Days after the class 10 General Science question paper leak, the Assamese language question paper has also been leaked. The examination for all Modern Indian Language (MIL) subjects, including English (IL) of HSLC, which was initially scheduled for March 18, 2023, will now be held on April 1, 2023.
Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said that Class 10 exams have been marred by two instances of question paper leaks, leading to the cancellation of the affected tests. In response, the Minister emphasized that a comprehensive evaluation of the entire examination system will be conducted, and necessary improvements will be made.
Admitting the existence of "lapses in the system," Education Minister Ranoj Pegu stated that the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) must identify the root causes of these issues and implement appropriate corrective actions. "We must work together to address these problems," he told reporters.
On Thursday evening, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed that, following the general science question paper leak during the Class 10 state board exam, the Assamese paper had also been leaked.
The opposition Congress party has responded to the recent report of paper leaks by stating that the incident has brought the entire matric examination process under scrutiny.
“Not only Assamese, every paper of HSLC exam seems to be under scanner. CM @himantabiswa, Education Minister @ranojpeguassam must be ashamed of themselves, take responsibility for this fiasco & resign. Horrific how @BJP4Assam Govt can play with the lives of lakhs of students,” the party said on Twitter.
