25% Of Foreign Students In US This Year Likely To Be From India As Embassy Issues Record Number Of Visas

The US expected to have 25% Indian foreign students this year due to record visa issuances by the embassy.

It is anticipated that 25 percent of foreign students in the United States will likely be from India. This increase in Indian students studying in the U.S. can be attributed to the fact that the embassy has issued a record number of visas to Indian students. This signifies a growing trend of Indian students pursuing education in the United States, showcasing the country's appeal as a preferred destination for higher education. "A record number of student visas were processed this summer. We anticipate that 25% of the foreign students in the US will come from India. We are very close to our one millionth visa application in India being adjudicated," says US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti.

“The US Mission in India is pleased to announce that we issued a record number – over 90,000 – of student visas this Summer/ in June, July, and August. This summer almost one in four student visas worldwide was issued right here in India!,” the US Embassy in India wrote on ‘X’ formerly Twitter on Monday.

"Congratulations and best wishes to all the students who have chosen the United States to make their higher education goals a reality! That’s a wrap! With teamwork and innovation, we ensured that all qualified applicants reached their programs on time," the tweet added.
