In anticipation of the planned demonstration by AAP leaders and supporters in the capital on Sunday, Delhi Police have heightened security measures, as per officials, as reported by news agency PTI. This decision follows AAP's announcement to conduct a candle march and burn effigies of the BJP government in protest against Kejriwal's arrest.

A senior police officer, quoted by PTI, stated, "We received information about the planned protest by AAP workers and leaders. To maintain law and order, we have increased security across the capital. Paramilitary forces, in addition to Delhi Police personnel, will be deployed. Senior officers will oversee the situation in their respective districts. SHOs have been instructed to monitor their areas and report any protests immediately closely".

Stringent security arrangements, including heavy personnel deployment and multi-layer barricades, have been implemented on routes leading to the BJP headquarters, ITO, and outside the ED office, where AAP members are expected to gather for the demonstration.

Paramilitary forces, equipped with anti-riot gear, are stationed to ensure peace and order.

Moreover, traffic police have been directed to facilitate smooth traffic flow in Delhi and to implement diversions if AAP leaders initiate a protest march swiftly.

In light of the enhanced security measures, roads leading to both the BJP headquarters and the ED office in central Delhi have been sealed off.

On Saturday, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann expressed solidarity with Kejriwal, stating their intent to petition the court for allowing Kejriwal to govern from jail, should he be incarcerated. Mann stressed Kejriwal's irreplaceable role in AAP as its founder and senior member, emerging from the anti-corruption movement.
