Zeeshan Siddique Gets Threat Mail Months After Father's Death: 'What Happened To Your Father...'

The Bandra police has visited Zeeshan Siddique’s residence and have launched an investigation into the case. The police officials are currently analysing the email and working to trace its origin.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former MLA Zeeshan Siddique on Monday claimed to receive a death threat email warning him that he would be "killed the same way" as his father Baba Siddique if he didn't pay Rs 10 crore to a person claiming to be a 'D-company' member.

The threat mail was sent to the former MLA's personal email account, Mumbai Police officials said.

A police official said after receiving a complaint, they have launched a probe into the death threat and extortion demand and are in the process of recording the statement of Zeeshan Siddique.

"What happened to your father will happen to you," the threat mail stated. The sender claimed the 'D-company', a name given to Mumbai's organized crime syndicate founded by fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, and not the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, was behind the killing of Baba Siddique, the NCP leader said.

The Bandra police visited Zeeshan Siddique’s residence and are currently analysing the email and working to trace its origin.

"Since the last three days I am receiving emails continuously, with content that 'you would be killed just like Baba Siddique if you don't pay Rs 10 crore. The sender claimed to be a member of the D-company and warned me not to contact police," Zeeshan Siddique told PTI.

The threat has raised concerns as it comes months after Baba Siddique’s death last year. Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister, was shot dead on 12 October, 2024 by three assailants outside the office of Zeeshan Siddique in Bandra East, Mumbai. Siddique suffered two bullet injuries to the chest and was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Later, Lawrence Bishnoi's gang took responsibility for the high-profile murder.
