Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his appreciation to the boatmen, drivers of the UP Transport Department, and joined for lunch with sanitation workers in Prayagraj.

After the grand conclusion of the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath along with Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Keshav Prasad Maurya, Uttar Pradesh DGP Prashant Kumar and state cabinet ministers as well as officials had lunch with sanitation workers in Prayagraj on Thursday.

He also met with boat operators to express his gratitude. During this interaction, he extended his appreciation to the boatmen and drivers of the Uttar Pradesh Transport Department. In addition, CM Yogi also announced several welfare schemes for boat operators.

The Maha Kumbh officially concluded on February 26, 2025, coinciding with Mahashivratri. For over a month, CM Yogi continuously monitored the arrangements at the fairgrounds. After the successful conclusion of the event, he held a special meeting with boat operators.

During the event, CM Yogi began his address by chanting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and praised the boat operators for their dedicated service throughout the Maha Kumbh. He acknowledged their significant role in ferrying pilgrims to the Sangam for their sacred baths and safely returning them.

Expressing his admiration, CM Yogi said, "I respect all the boatmen who played a vital role in the Maha Kumbh. You have upheld your heritage, just as 'Nishadraj' helped Lord Shri Ram cross the river in the Treta Yuga. The successful conclusion of the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh would not have been possible without your contribution."

He further announced that all boat operators in the state would receive a Rs 5 lakh insurance scheme. Additionally, the state government will provide financial assistance to underprivileged boatmen to help them purchase boats. Those without health insurance will be covered under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, ensuring access to medical benefits.

CM Yogi Honoured Uttar Pradesh Roadways Employees, Sanitation Workers

During the Maha Kumbh closing ceremony, CM Yogi also honoured Uttar Pradesh Roadways employees, acknowledging their efforts in providing seamless shuttle bus services for pilgrims. He stated, "More than 200 roadways employees worked tirelessly to transport devotees from one place to another through shuttle bus services. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all these employees."

The recognition by CM Yogi filled the roadways employees with enthusiasm, with many expressing their joy and surprise at being honored by the Chief Minister.
