'Earlier It Was Fine, But Now...': UP Minister Sanjay Nishad Objects To Azaan On Loudspeakers
During his Jhansi visit, Nishad said that even the Supreme Court has ordered that loudspeakers should not be used as he questioned the need for it "if God is present in every particle."

Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Sanjay Nishad on Sunday objected to azaan being played on loudspeakers, stressing that there should be peace in the country. He asked the Muslim community to make use of clocks and set an alarm as per the prayer's timings.
During his Jhansi visit, Nishad said that even the Supreme Court has ordered that loudspeakers should not be used as he questioned the need for it "if God is present in every particle". The state cabinet minister also reasoned that playing azaan on loudspeakers disturbs the children's studies.
"When God-Allah is present in every particle, then what is the need for this? If God is in every particle, then why the loud sound? There should be peace in the country...It disturbs children's studies," he said.
"Even the Supreme Court has ordered that loudspeakers should not be used. Earlier, it (azaan) was fine, but now we have clocks; set an alarm," Nishad added.
The minister's remark came as the holy month of Ramzan began today, marking the first day of fasting for Muslims throughout the country. The holy month is dedicated to fasting and culminates with the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.
UP CM Yogi, PM Modi Extend Ramzan Greetings
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had earlier issued an official statement, greeting people on the holy occasion and underlining the virtues of fasting and service to humanity during Ramadan.
"During these sacred days, good deeds such as fasting, self-discipline, patience, and worship foster values of tolerance, simplicity, and mutual brotherhood," CM Yogi stated.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday also extended greetings to people on the beginning of Ramzan.
"As the blessed month of Ramzan begins, may it bring peace and harmony in our society. This sacred month epitomises reflection, gratitude and devotion, also reminding us of the values of compassion, kindness and service. Ramzan Mubarak!" he wrote in a post on X.
