UP Man Takes Loan To Hire Men To Gangrape And Kill Sister-In-Law, Arrested After Encounter In Muzaffarnagar
Police officials said that the accused and his associates lured the woman away from her home, gang-raped her, and then strangled her to death. They burned the body to destroy the evidence.

A 21-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped and strangled to death by her brother-in-law and two others in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district. The accused even set her body on fire in an attempt to destroy evidence.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Aditya Bansal said the main accused, Ashish, has been arrested, while two other accomplices, identified as Shubham and Deepak are absconding, news agency PTI reported.
According to a report by the Times of India, Ashish allegedly took a loan of Rs 40,000 to hire the two killers and fund the crime.
The incident took place in Budhana area's Bavana village. The woman was missing since January 21, following which her family filed a missing report on January 23.
It was revealed during the investigation that Ashish, who is the victim's elder sister's husband, was pressuring her to marry him, police told PTI.
Police officials said that the accused and his associates lured the woman away from her home, gang-raped her, and then strangled her to death with a scarf. They then allegedly burned the victim's body with petrol to destroy the evidence.
The woman's remains, including her skull, were discovered from a nearby forest on Friday. The body was charred beyond recognition. Her parent's managed to identify her from her partially-burnt clothes, ring, footwear, undergarments, and hair with a clip intact, all of which was recovered from the crime scene, TOI reported.
"The woman's charred remains have been recovered and a forensic examination is underway," SP Bansal said.

Main Accused Arrested After Encounter
The main accused Ashish was arrested on Sunday, following which he confessed to the crime. He was nabbed after a brief encounter on Bandhla road in Muzaffarnagar and also sustained injuries to his leg during the gunfight.
SP Bansal told TOI tha the woman was last spotted on a scooter with her brother-in-law, with whom she was in an illicit relationship for two years. Ashish told the cops that the woman had some private photos and videos of them together and was blackmailing him.
It was then that he decided to get her killed as he was afraid to get exposed. He took a bank loan of Rs 40,000, paid Rs 10,000 in advance, and promised to pay Rs 20,000 after the crime, he said.
"The fact that the victim's undergarments were found intact while the other clothes were burned raised suspicion of sexual assault. Two condom packets were also found," Bansal added.
A case has been registered against him under BNS sections of murder and gang-rape and efforts are on to nab the absconding duo. Further investigation is underway.
