Ravindra Jadeja Breaks Silence On Retirement, Fires Back at Critics

Ravindra Jadeja was widely expected to announce his ODI retirement after IND vs NZ Champions Trophy 2025 final, as per multiple media reports. However, he did not step away from the format, putting an end to the speculation.

Now, the premier all-rounder has indirectly addressed the retirement rumors, delivering a sharp response to his critics.

Jadeja's cryptic Instagram post

Ravindra Jadeja recently took to Instagram to share a story dismissing unnecessary rumors, seemingly addressing the speculation around his future. His message hinted that he has no immediate plans to retire from ODIs.

Retirement speculations around Rohit and Kohli

Similar rumors surrounded Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli after they retired from T20Is following India's 2024 T20 World Cup triumph. Many believed they would announce their ODI retirements after winning the Champions Trophy 2025. However, Rohit Sharma made it clear in a press conference that he has no plans to retire.

Jadeja's remarkable career

Ravindra Jadeja, retired from T20Is, remains a key asset to Indian cricket across Tests and ODIs. In 80 Test matches, he has scored 3,370 runs at an average of 34.74 and taken 323 wickets. In ODIs, he has scored 2,806 runs at 32.62 while also claiming 231 wickets in 204 matches.

His T20I record includes 515 runs and 54 wickets in 74 games. Given his consistent performances, Jadeja’s presence in the Indian team continues to be invaluable.

Following India's Champions Trophy 2025 win over NZ, Ravindra Jadeja received special recognition for his exceptional fielding performance in the final.

As part of Team India's tradition, fielding coach T. Dilip selects one player as the Best Fielder after every match. In the final, both Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja were nominated, but Jadeja ultimately claimed the award for his outstanding agility and sharp throws on the field.
