Elon Musk Responds Amid Global X Outage, Says 'Massive Cyberattack By Coordinated Group'

X (formerly Twitter) suffered a massive global outage for the third time on Monday, leaving thousands of users unable to access the app or website.

Amid the global X outage, its CEO Elon Musk has said that there has been a massive cyberattack against the social media platform. He suspected that either a large, coordinated group or a country is involved in the cyberattack.

Responding to the reports of the massive outage on the microblogging site, Musk said, "A massive cyberattack against 𝕏. We get attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources. Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved."

He added that Meta was tracing the nature of the issue.

The microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter) suffered a massive global outage for the third time on Monday, leaving thousands of users unable to access the app or website.

X reported the first outage at around 3:30 PM IST, when the users reported the outage on DownDetector. The website data showed that over 17,871 complaints were logged regarding microblogging platform around 3.20 pm.

The users reported the second outage at 7:32 pm, while the users once again reported the third outage at around 9:32 pm, according to the DownDetector website.

The outage has impacted users across multiple countries, including the United States, India, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada. For the uninitiated, Downdetector monitors the operational status of internet services and has recorded a substantial spike in outage reports. 

Downdetector reported that 56 per cent of users were facing problems with the X app, while 33 per cent were encountering issues on the website. Meanwhile, 11 per cent reported trouble with server connections.
