Heavy Rainfall Grips Uttar Pradesh, IMD Issues Orange Alert For Several Districts

UP Weather News: Widespread rainfall is likely to continue in Uttar Pradesh. The IMD has issued an orange alert in several districts, including Saharanpur, Moradabad, and Rampur.

The monsoon has now intensified across Uttar Pradesh, stretching from the eastern to the western parts of the state. Over the past few days, widespread rainfall has been recorded in various regions. While the showers brought a noticeable dip in temperature, high humidity levels are proving to be a bother for UP residents.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for the Terai and Bundelkhand regions on Wednesday, June 25. An orange alert has been sounded for Saharanpur, Bijnor, Moradabad, and Rampur, where thunderstorms accompanied by intense rainfall are expected. Lightning strikes are also likely in several areas.

High Humidity In UP

According to the IMD, multiple regions across Uttar Pradesh are set to receive moderate to heavy downpours today. Some districts may witness extremely heavy rainfall with thunderstorm activity. From June 26, the monsoon is likely to strengthen with heavy rain pummeling the state. This wet spell is expected to persist for the next 3-4 days and may extend till June 30.

The high humidity is also likely to continue. According to private weather forecaster Accuweather, the humidity on Wednesday morning was around 64%.

Despite the humidity, the rain has provided some relief from the heat. But the humidity remains a concern in many parts of the state. No significant changes are expected in the maximum and minimum temperatures over the next five days. On Monday, Fatehgarh recorded the highest temperature at 38°C. Basti, Lakhimpur Kheri, Aligarh, and Bulandshahr also recorded high temperatures.
