17 Telangana Students Fall Ill After Having Midday Meal; CM Orders Probe

All the affected students were rushed to a hospital, where 15 remain under observation. Officials are probing the real cause of illnesses.

Seventeen students from a government school in the Narayanpet district of Telangana fell ill on Wednesday after consuming a midday meal, officials said. Authorities confirmed that all fifteen of the students who fell sick are currently receiving treatment at a hospital, while two have been discharged.

According to a report by news agency PTI, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has taken the incident seriously, instructing the District Collector to carry out a detailed investigation, determine the cause, and identify those responsible.

A statement from the CMO said the chief minister inquired about the health of the students and directed officials to ensure they receive the best possible care. He also ordered a swift inquiry into the matter and called for measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

Reddy reiterated the commitment of the government to provide nutritious meals for students and issued a warning of strict action against those found negligent. He urged district collectors across the state to remain vigilant.

On Wednesday, more than 400 students had lunch at Zilla Parishad High School in Maganoor Mandal. After the meal, 17 students complained about the symptoms including vomiting and headaches, according to a District Educational Officer.

All the affected students were rushed to a hospital, where 15 remain under observation. Officials are probing the real cause of illnesses.

181 Students Fall Ill After Eating Mid-Day Meal Biscuits In Maharashtra

A total of 181 school students fell ill after eating Mid Day Meal biscuits in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district of Maharashtra on September 18. Out of these, nine were reported to be in critical condition and were transferred to another hospital. The students experienced nausea, vomiting, and sudden fever after eating the biscuits.

As the condition of these nine students worsened, they were moved to Sambhaji Nagar for further treatment. They were taken to Sambhaji Nagar Government Hospital using two ambulances, and reports suggest that the health of other students is also declining.
