Rajasthan Teacher Arrested For Appearing As Dummy Candidate In Govt Recruitment Exams
Ummed Singh was a Grade II teacher. He charged several lakhs to appear as a proxy candidate, assuring guaranteed results in government exams against hefty sums of money.

A government school teacher was arrested on Wednesday by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan police for allegedly impersonating candidates in several public employment recruitment examinations in the state.
The accused, Ummed Singh, is a resident of Rakhna village in Rohat tehsil of Pali district. He was arrested while he was reporting to the District Education Officer (DEO) office in Sirohi district, Times Of India reported.
Additional Director General (SOG) VK Singh told TOI that Ummed Singh was a Grade II teacher. Singh said the accused went into hiding when his name surfaced in the investigation as he was afraid of being expelled from government services.
He had gone to the DEO office to mark his attendance, where he was apprehended. Singh also stated that the accused teacher had cleared the Sub-Inspector exam in 2021, but did not join the training.

Teacher Appeared For Over 7 Recuitment Exams
Ummed has been accused of appearing as a proxy candidate in multiple high-profile exams and has been placed under suspension.
The SOG said that the accused appeared as a dummy candidate in the Sub-Inspector Recruitment Exams of 2018 and 2021, the First Grade Hindi Lecturer Exams of 2020 and 2022, the Second Grade Teacher Exam of 2022, the Physical Education Teacher Recruitment Exam of 2022, and the REET Level II Exam of 2022, TOI reported.
It was revealed during the investigation that he charged several lakhs to appear as a proxy candidate, assuring guaranteed results in govt exams against hefty sums of money. The report also sid that his involvement was found in seven exams, but it is anticipated that he appeared in other exams as well.
SOG officials stated that Ummed is being brought to Jaipur for further interrogation.
His arrested is being seen as a major breakthrough in the state's ongoing efforts to tackle organised exam fraud as the accused operated as a freelance dummy candidate for various government job aspirants without the fear of law.
SOG Jodhpur unit constable Ajay Singh was credited for playing a key role in arresting the accused teacher.
