Police Unfold Bahadurgarh Blast Case, Husband Behind Explosion That Killed Wife, 3 Children
A massive explosion that rocked a house in Haryana’s Bahadurgarh on Saturday evening claimed the lives of a woman and her three children, while the sole survivor—her husband—was rescued by neighbours.

What was initially believed to be an AC compressor explosion has now been found to be a planned murder, a Haryana police investigation has revealed.
A massive explosion took place at a house in Haryana’s Bahadurgarh on Saturday evening which led to the deaths of four people- a woman and her three children. While the husband sustained injuries.
The incident was believed to have occurred due to an air conditioner compressor malfunction. However, the police have now identified the sole survivor- the injured man- as the prime suspect in the case.
The accused, Harpal, a transporter from Rudrapur in Uttarakhand, is now in police custody.
The victims have been identified as Sandeep Kaur, the mother, and her three children: sons Jaskirat and Sukhwinder Singh, and daughter Chahak Kaur. Their bodies have been sent for post-mortem at a local hospital.
Chilling Details Emerge
During a press conference on Sunday, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mayank Mishra revealed shocking details about the case.
Harpal allegedly drugged his wife and children with sleeping pills before attacking them with a sharp weapon. After ensuring they were dead, he doused the house in petrol and set it ablaze.
Authorities suspect that Harpal might have intended to take his own life after killing the family.
However, when a blast—believed to have been triggered by the fire—shook the house, neighbours rushed in, broke down the door, and rescued him. The explosion’s impact was so severe that tiles were dislodged from the walls, causing panic in the neighbourhood.
Suicide Note Points to Land Dispute
Police recovered a 12-page suicide note from the scene, in which Harpal accused his sister and brother-in-law of fraudulently seizing his land. Investigators have learned that Harpal had been suffering from depression for some time.
Police said that the accused will remain in police custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
