Meerut Murder: Rastogi Bought Knives & Practised Stabbing Before Killing Her Husband

Eight days before the murder of Saurabh Rajput, his wife Muskan Rastogi, had bought the weapons.

New details have emerged in the Saurabh Rajput murder case in Meerut. The prime accused, Muskan Rastogi had bought the weapons eight days before the crime and practised stabbing. She bought two knives worth Rs 800 and one cut-throat razor, which was used to decapitate Saurabh.

Muskan Rastogi and her lover, Sahil Shukla have been arrested for allegedly murdering Rastogi’s husband earlier this month.

Rajput was drugged and then fatally stabbed, after which his body was dismembered and sealed in a cement-filled drum. Following this, Muskan and Sahil misled his family by sending messages from his phone while vacationing in Himachal Pradesh. Doctors who conducted the post-mortem stated Rajput had been stabbed three times in the heart with extreme force.

According to an NDTV report, Muskan and Sahil were involved in drugs and feared that Saurabh might put an end to their activities. Saurabh was also aware of their affair and had even contemplated divorce before deciding against it for the sake of his six-year-old daughter. Saurabh who lived in London for work had travelled to Meerut to celebrate his daughter's birthday.

He also wanted to take his wife and daughter to London, but she refused and said she wanted to stay in Meerut. Saurabh then decided to take his daughter and applied for a passport for her.

'Drugged Before Murder'

Saurabh was drugged with sleeping pills after he dozed off she stabbed him and slit his throat.

According to NDTV, Sahil was tasked with severing the head from the torso using a knife. The two then dismembered the body into 15 pieces, placed them in a drum, and sealed it with cement. However, did not factor in the weight of the drum, they called labourers to lift it but they couldn’t lift it either. When Rastogi felt stuck, she called her parents.
