Mumbai Police Suspect Child Was Drowned After Abduction

After committing the crime, the accused returned to the spot, leaving the child’s body just 30 metres away from the victim’s family’s sleeping area before fleeing. According to Lokmat Times, police sources revealed that CCTV footage from the area has helped identify the suspect, and a search operation has been launched to track him down.

The deceased child lived with his parents in Kandivali East. A day before the incident, he had visited his grandmother’s house in Iraniwadi, Kandivali West. At the time of the kidnapping, he was sleeping next to his grandmother. The horrific incident took place between March 21 and 22 at around 2 a.m., when an unidentified man arrived on a bicycle, abducted the sleeping child, and fled. Within half an hour, the suspect returned and left the child’s body at a construction site near his grandparents’ house before escaping, Lokmat Times reported.

A preliminary medical report confirmed that the child was strangled to death. Police have secured CCTV footage from the area, capturing images of the accused. Multiple teams have been deployed to trace the suspect. The motive behind the crime remains unclear, and further investigations are underway.

In a separate incident, a father, a 38-year-old techie in Pune, slit the throat of his three-and-a-half-year-old son after he suspected his wife of infidelity. The accused, Madhav, had an argument with his wife on the afternoon of the incident. After this, he left with his child and killed him.
