Boy, 8, Tied To Pole And Flogged For Plucking Flowers From Nursery In UP’s Bareilly

Bareilly Police have filed an FIR and launched a search to nab the nursery owner and his son who flogged the boy for plucking flowers.

An eight-year-old boy from Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly was allegedly tied to a wooden pole and flogged for plucking flowers from a nursery. After the incident came to the fore, the Bareilly police booked the nursery owner and his son for assaulting the boy.

The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon in the Umaria village in Bareilly after the boy, Adarsh, allegedly plucked flowers from the nursery. The victim's father, Pintu Sharma, registered a complaint with the Cantonment police station against Rohit Tandon, the owner of Pushpanjali Rose Nursery, Indian Express reported.

Sharma claimed that he had requested the nursery owner to not beat his son, but "he threatened that he would kill him because he plucked flowers from his nursery". He further said that Tandon’s son also joined him. Sharma requested assistance from the Bareilly police, and his son was reportedly freed only after they arrived.
