Maharashtra Man Beats Daughter To Death With Stick For Scoring Low In NEET Mock Test

Dhondiram Bhonsle, a school principal, got angry and thrashed his 17-year-old daughter with a stick for scoring low marks in a mock test for NEET. He has been arrested and investigation is underway.

A disturbing incident has come to the fore from Maharashtra's Sangli where a man allegedly beat her daughter to death for scoring low marks in a mock test during her NEET exam preparations.

Sadhna Bhonsle, a 17-year-old Class 12 student, was preparing for pre-medical test, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET, for which she was taking most tests. She had scored 92.60 percent in Class 10 board exams, and aspired to become a doctor.

However, when she scored low marks in one of the practice tests, her father, Dhondiram Bhonsle, a school principal, got angry and thrashed her with a stick. He reportedly confessed to beating her daughter and has been arrested by the police.

Girl's Mother Filed Complaint Against Husband

The incident took place two days ago when Sadhna reached her home from school in Nelkarnaji. When she told her father about her marks, he began beating her with a stick at night. She sustained serious injuries due to the beating, but instead of taking her to a hospital, he went to his school the next morning to celebrate International Day of Yoga.

When he returned home, he found Sadhna unconscious. It was only then that she was rushed to Ushakal Hospital in Sangli, but she died before she could get treatment.

According to sources, when she was scolded by her father for low marks, she replied to him by asking if he had become a collector and if he had not scored low marks ever. This enraged him and he began assaulting his daughter with sticks.

"The girl's mother had filed a complaint at the police station on June 22, stating that her husband had beaten her up due to low marks, resulting in her death at the hospital," police said, as reported by NDTV.

The accused father has been arrested and is in police custody till June 24. The case is under investigation.
