9 Naxals Killed In Chhattisgarh

Similarly, on September 3, as many as 9 Naxalites were killed during a clash with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar division, police said. The encounter followed intelligence reports suggesting the presence of Maoists in the area.

During the operation, security forces recovered several automatic weapons, including a Self-Loading Rifle (SLR), a .303 Rifle, and a .315 Bore Rifle, according to Gaurav Rai, Superintendent of Police in Dantewada. All personnel involved in the operation were confirmed safe, and a detailed report is expected soon, reported ANI.

This development followed after a joint police team went on a search operation from West Bastar Division to the border area of the Dantewada and Bijapur districts.

In June, at least five Naxals were also killed in an encounter with security forces in  Abujhmarh in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur, news agency ANI reported. A total of eight Naxals have been killed so far in an encounter with security forces in Abujhmarh. As per the official, one Army jawan lost his life in the line of duty, and two jawans sustained injuries.

Previously, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has expressed confidence that the government will resolve the issue of Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) by March 2026. His statement came during an inter-state coordination meeting with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, along with senior officials from neighbouring states.

Shah reviewed the measures taken against Naxal insurgency and progress in infrastructure projects within the Red Corridor—areas spread across nine states affected by LWE.
