Man Bites Child's Hand, Thrashes Him In Lift; The Reason Will Shock You: VIRAL VIDEO

A CCTV footage of a man assaulting a 12-year-old boy in an Ambernath lift has sparked outrage in Maharashtra. A delay by the police in registering an FIR has drawn massive protests online.

A man from Palegaon, Maharashtra, was booked for allegedly biting and thrashing a 12-year-old child in the lift of his housing society. The accused, identified in various media reports as Kailash Thawani, is said to be a resident of Patel Xenon Housing Project. The incident occurred around 5 PM on July 4 and has since gone viral on social media.

Why Was Palegaon Child Attacked In Lift?

The victim was on his way to tuition classes when he entered the lift on the 14th floor. The elevator stopped at the 9th floor, and seeing no one outside, the boy pressed the button to close the lift door. Suddenly, Thawani stepped in and began to rain slaps and blows on him without warning.

"Uncle entered the lift, didn't say a word, and just started hitting me," Tyagi recalled. "When I asked why, he bit me and said, 'Tu mujhe bahar mil, main tujhe chaaku se maar dunga' (Meet me outside; I'll stab you with a knife)."

Thawani was purportedly furious because the boy did not hold the lift door for him on the 14th floor. The footage shows the boy attempting to shut the door when Thawani suddenly barges in and launches the unprovoked attack.

Disturbing CCTV Footage From Sparks Outrage

The assault was caught on the lift's CCTV camera. The video shows Thawani repeatedly slapping the minor, biting his hand, and issuing violent threats. The child's father later revealed that the man continued beating the boy even after they exited the lift. "The watchman tried to intervene, but the thrashing continued until other residents stepped in," he said.

A woman housekeeper in the lift reportedly attempted to stop the assault by halting the lift on the ground floor. But the accused followed the boy into the lobby and kept attacking him until security guards intervened.

Police Response Under Scrutiny

Following the attack, the child's mother approached Shivaji Nagar Police Station to lodge a complaint. However, officers allegedly registered only a non-cognisable offence. It took four days of protest by the family and the video to go viral before an FIR was finally registered.

Confirming the case, DCP Sachin Gore told news agency IANS, "A 12-year-old boy was brutally assaulted inside a lift in the Palegaon area. The act was captured on CCTV. A case has now been registered at Shivajinagar Police Station in Ambernath."

Public Demands Justice

As the disturbing video gained traction online, calls for justice grew louder. Citizens and activists alike are demanding immediate arrest and strict action against the accused.
