MP Man Stages Wife’s Murder As Road Accident In Gwalior After Getting Inspired By Crime Shows

The case surfaced on February 12, after the police were informed about the death of a 22-year-old woman in a road accident on Sheetla Road in the Kampu police station area.

A man reportedly killed his wife and attempted to mask the crime as a road accident by leaving her body on the street in the Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh. Initially, the police considered the incident an accident, but a post-mortem report disclosed that the woman was brutally beaten to death.

Later, the police, after a detailed investigation, arrested the husband and filed a case against him and three other family members. The case surfaced on February 12, after the police were informed about the death of a 22-year-old woman in a road accident on Sheetla Road in the Kampu police station area, according to a report by India Today.

Her husband, Pradeep Gurjar, who was present during the incident, escaped with minor injuries. Initially, the police accepted his version of the accident, but inconsistencies in his statements and evidence from the scene led to suspicion.

Woman's Death Subjected To Dowry Harassment

As the probe deepened, the woman's family alleged that she had been subjected to dowry harassment. Forensic analysis later confirmed that her injuries were inflicted through a brutal assault rather than an accident. Further investigations uncovered that Pradeep had orchestrated the crime after drawing inspiration from crime-related television shows.

Based on the collected evidence, the police charged Pradeep, his father Ramveer Gurjar, and his cousins Banwari and Sonu Gurjar with murder and criminal conspiracy.

Pradeep has been taken into custody, while authorities continue to scrutinise the involvement of the other accused. Investigators are also probing whether Pradeep had external assistance in covering up the crime.
