This is the second such incident in a week as a man in his forties died after jumping in front of a metro train at Kalighat station last Wednesday.

A woman allegedly jumped before a running metro train in Kolkata's Chandni Chowk station, affecting rail services in the north-south corridor on Wednesday, an official said. Normal train services were resumed at 11.50 am after the injured woman was pulled from under the train and sent to hospital, the official added.

Metro services were affected in the north-south corridor from 10.54 am after the incident, the official said. Truncated services were being run to Maidan station in the south and up to Girish Park in the north.
