Jharkhand: Ranchi Bandh Today Over Anil Tiger's Murder, BJP Leader Detained

Following the daylight murder of BJP leader Anil Mahato, BJP and AJSU called for a Ranchi shutdown today. They have appealed for public support.

Anil Mahato Tiger Murder News: Anil Mahato, also known as Anil Tiger, a BJP leader, was shot dead in broad daylight on Wednesday, February 26, in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. The incident took place at Kanke Chowk, where unidentified assailants on a motorcycle targeted him.

Following the incident, the BJP and the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) have questioned the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. In protest, both parties have called for a Ranchi bandh on Thursday, March 27, and appealed to the public to cooperate.

Accused Arrested, Bike Recovered

It is reported that the police, acting swiftly, have arrested one accused involved in the murder. He was apprehended from Pithoria. The motorcycle used in the incident has also been recovered by the police.

According to news agency IANS, DGP Anurag Gupta said that the incident is unfortunate and extremely sad. "However, it is also true that most of the major incidents that have occurred in the state so far have been solved and the criminals have been arrested."

BJP and AJSU Appeal For Ranchi Bandh Success

Protesting the murder, the BJP and the AJSU have called for a Ranchi bandh today. Both parties have appealed to traders and the general public to make the bandh successful against the deteriorating law and order situation.

Babulal Marandi Slams Hemant Soren Government

Following the incident, Jharkhand BJP state president and former CM Babulal Marandi targeted the government and demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. He said, "The law and order situation in the state has completely collapsed. Criminals are targeting public representatives without fear. This government has completely failed."

Marandi visited RIMS hospital and met the deceased's family to express his condolences. He wrote on the social media platform 'X', "The murder of Anil Tigerji is shocking. No one is safe in the state. The Chief Minister should immediately resign, taking moral responsibility for this incident."

BJP leader Pratul Shahdeo was taken under preventive detention by the police as NDA leaders called for a protest against the murder of BJP leader Anil Tiger. He said, " Instead of catching criminals, political leaders who were protesting peacefully are being taken away by Police"

JMM Alleges 'Politics Over Death' 

Hemant Soren's Jharkhand Mukti Morcha claimed that the NDA was indulging in politics over the death of Anil Tiger. JMM leader Manoj Pandey , "His murder is unfortunate and in this tough time, may his family get the strength to bear the loss. But, during these tough times also, playing politics is beyond understanding. We have to thank Ranchi Police for their immediate action and arrest...this case will be solved soon...why is politics being played [by NDA]? We have seen your regime, we have lost so many of our leaders during your regime...now they are in opposition they are saying anything..."
