'Intruder' At Jamia Millia Islamia University Girls' Hostel At Night Sparks Security Scare

A man illegally entered the Jamia Millia Islamia university campus. The man was caught bu the incident sparked students' protests over "inadequate security measures".

Jamia Millia Islamia News: An incident involving an unknown individual entering the girls' hostel at Jamia Millia Islamia University on Sunday night has sparked outrage among students over security concerns. The suspect, allegedly drunk, scaled a wall to gain entry to the hostel.

Following the incident, female students protested against the administration, demanding accountability for this major security lapse.

How The Security Breach Occurred

According to the students, the incident occurred around 8:30 PM when the individual was seen wandering around the hostel premises. Some students found his behaviour suspicious and immediately informed the hostel warden.

Security guards were called in and the man was apprehended. He was then handed over to the police.

Students Protest Over Security Breach

Following the incident, the students staged a sit-in outside the hostel, demanding accountability from the administration. The students questioned how an outsider managed to enter despite a 10 PM curfew.

They alleged that the individual remained on the premises for approximately two hours, and the administration failed to take timely action.

All India Students Association (AISA) termed it a serious security lapse and accused the administration of negligence. AISA's statement read, "Why wasn't this incident prevented even when the warden and security personnel were present? This raises several questions about the safety of women."

The student organisation also alleged that the hostel gates were locked to intimidate protesting students, and attempts were made to silence them by contacting their parents.

Demand For Inquiry

The university administration claimed to have taken the incident seriously. An official stated, "As soon as the individual attempted to enter the hostel, security personnel apprehended him and immediately informed the police."

The students have demanded a thorough investigation into this security lapse and measures to prevent such incidents in the future. They said they will not rest until the administration takes stringent action.
