'14×14 Cell, Digital Security': Here's How Tahawwur Rana Is Being Monitored In High-Security NIA Cell
Tahawwur Rana, a suspect in the 26/11 attack, has been extradited to India from the US and detained in a secure cell at the NIA headquarters in Delhi. The cell has CCTV cameras, a bed, and a bathroom.

Tahawwur Hussain Rana, a key accused in the November 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, was extradited from the United States to India on Thursday and is set to face trial under Indian law.
As per the officials, Rana has been kept in a highly secured cell inside the NIA's head office at CGO complex, Delhi.
Rana has been kept in a cell on the ground floor of the anti-terror agency’s headquarters and the cell is equipped with CCTV cameras.
He has also got a bed in his cell which is placed on the ground. A bathroom is also inside it. Apart from that, Rana will be given food and all other essentials inside the cell.
As per the details, the size of the cell is about 14×14, and his cell has multiple layer digital security as well as 24-hour guards.
Rana's movement will be kept to a minimum in the NIA headquarters and he will be interrogated with recording under the surveillance of two cameras. Only 12 NIA officers are allowed to enter this cell.
Today, after the meeting of NIA officials, the interrogation of Rana will begin. He will be provided with breaks in between. According to the information, eight agencies have requested NIA for interrogation of Rana.
Tahawwur Rana Sent To NIA Custody For 18 Days
The NIA has got 18 days of remand of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks accused Tahawwur Rana during the late hearing on Thursday night. According to news agency ANI, the NIA had presented compelling evidence, including the emails sent by Rana, to justify his policy custody. The agency informed the court that custodial interrogation is crucial to uncovering the sinister plot.
Rana was brought to the court in a cavalcade, including a jailman, an armoured SWAT vehicle and an ambulance. He was produced before Special NIA judge Chander Jit Singh. Senior advocate Dayan Krishnan and Special Public Prosecutor Narender Mann represented the NIA, while advocate Piyush Sachdeva from the Delhi Legal Services Authority represented Rana.
