Heatwave Alert Issued For Delhi-NCR After Brief Respite, Temperature To Cross 42°C

The maximum temperature is expected to touch 41 degrees Celsius on April 16 and rise further to 42°C on April 17 and 18.

After a brief respite over the weekend, temperatures in Delhi-NCR are likely to soar past 42 degrees Celsius as the India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heatwave in the region.

The maximum temperature is expected to touch 41 degrees Celsius on April 16 and rise further to 42°C on April 17 and 18. Heatwave to severe heatwave conditions are likely to persist in Rajasthan till April 19, while high temperatures are expected in states like Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, and West Madhya Pradesh till April 18.

An 'orange' warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, hail and wind reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour has been issued in isolated places in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi and Shimla districts on Friday.
