Gurugram Tennis Player Murder: Radhika Yadav's Autopsy Contradicts FIR, Not Three Bullets But...

Radhika Yadav, 25, a former national-level tennis player, was murdered by her father following an argument at her residence in Sushant Lok Phase-2 of Gurugram's Sector-57 on Thursday.

The autopsy report of Radhika Yadav, the former tennis player who was shot dead by her father in Gurugram, has surfaced. According to the autopsy report, the player was shot four times, which is in contrast to the FIR which said that she was shot thrice.

The 25-year-old victim, who was once a national-level tennis player, was murdered by her father following an argument at her residence in Sushant Lok Phase-2 of Gurugram's Sector-57 on Thursday.

"The postmortem of the deceased tennis player is completed. Four bullets were taken out from Radhika Yadav's body," Dr. Deepak Mathur of the team of doctors who performed the postmortem said, as reported by news agency ANI.

According to police, Yadav fired at least five gunshots at Radhika from behind while she was cooking, three of which hit her in the back. She was killed on the spot, news agency PTI reported.

The accused, Deepak Yadav, 49, was allegedly unhappy over her daughter operating a sports academy. Despite his opposition to her venture, the victim had insisted on running her tennis academy.

Yadav has confessed to killing his daughter. He told the police his family was well-off and that Radhika did not have to the run the academy. He was often taunted for living off her income, which made him unhappy. Yadav was enraged that she did not listen to him and continued to pursue her passion, which led him to shoot her at their home.

On the day of the incident, the father-daughter duo got into a heated argument on the first floor of the house over Radhika running her tennis academy. In the middle of the argument, Yadav, who is dependent on rental income for his expenses, pulled out his licensed firearm and fired shots at his daughter, news ageny IANS reported.

Meanwhile, police on Friday said they were investigating all possible angles in the murder of former tennis player, including where her mother was and what she was doing at the time of the incident. Deepak Yadav has been sent to one-day police custody.

Radhika Yadav had also featured in a music video alongside an independent artist last year. Following her murder, many claims surfaced that the music video might have caused tensions at home.
