Rahul Gandhi has earlier emphasised to Congress workers in Gujarat the importance of removing individuals from the party who are "closely aligned" or "colluding" with the BJP.
"If we want to build a relationship (with people), then we have to do two things, the first task is to separate these two groups (loyalists and BJP supporters), strict action has to be taken. Even if we have to remove ten, fifteen, even twenty or thirty people, then we should remove them," Gandhi said on March 9, news agency ANI reported.
You Don't Have Place Here: Rahul Gandhi To Congress Leaders Working For BJP
Condemning the leaders in the party for having connections with the BJP, Gandhi stated, "You are working for the BJP from the inside. Go out and see how you work from the outside. You don't have a place here."
Congress leader Ajay Kumar Lallu noted that the campaign would offer fresh direction to the party. "Gujarat is the land of Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel. Rahul Gandhi ji is a follower of Mahatma Gandhi. This new initiative by Rahul Gandhi will give a new direction to the party," Ajay Kumar Lallu said.
The orientation program for District Observers will also be addressed by Rahul Gandhi at around 3 pm at the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee in Ahmedabad.
Meanwhile, Congress is also gearing up for the upcoming Bihar elections and held a strategy meeting with alliance partner Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Delhi. The session took place at Congress president Kharge’s residence and included Rae Bareli MP Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav.
