VIDEO: Elephant In Ahmedabad Rath Yatra Runs Amok On Street, Several Injured

An elephant ran amok during Jagannath Rath Yatra in Ahmedabad, injuring several. Shocking video goes viral; loud music may have triggered chaos.

Several people were injured during a Jagannath Rath Yatra procession in Ahmedabad when an elephant went out of control and ran amok on the streets. The elephant was part of a procession, in which 5-6 elephants were taking part.

A video of the incident is now going viral.

The injured were sent to a nearby hospital. All the elephants have been removed from the area now.

The Jagannath Rath Yatra began from the Jamalpur Temple, with a large number of people gathering to take part in the annual event.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel pulled the chariot at the Shree Jagannathji Mandir in Ahmedabad on the occasion of the 148th Rath Yatra.

Initial reports claimed that the elephants were spooked by the loud music being played during the Rath Yatra.
