Wild Elephant Charges At Tourists & Biker In Uttar Pradesh, Triggers Panic

A wild elephant charged at tourists and a biker on Katarnia Road in UP's Katarniaghat Wildlife Division, causing panic. Traffic was halted for several hours as the tusker blocked the road.

Tourists who were excited to see a wild elephant were sent into a state of panic after the tusker charged towards them as well as a bike rider. The incident took place on Katarnia Road in the Katarniaghat Wildlife Division in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh.

Tourists and passersby managed to escape and fled the area. Following this, the elephant remained on Katarniaghat Road, bringing traffic to a standstill for several hours.

The forest is dominated by the presence of elephants, which often roam in both states. The Kanhar River naturally demarcates the area.

Last year, a wild elephant also trampled a person, Chamra Ram, 60, to death in the Rajpur area of the Balrampur district. Chamra Ram encountered a group of eight elephants near his house in the nursery adjacent to Chilma Forest Range.

The elephants crushed him, leading to his death on the spot. His family managed to save their lives by fleeing the scene. This incident occurred as a group of 35 elephants roamed the area, with eight elephants splitting from the herd.
