Dilip Ghosh Reacts After Stepson Found Dead In Kolkata Home: 'Cannot Even Imagine...'

Pritam Majumdar was found in an unconscious condition on Tuesday morning. He was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.

BJP leader Dilip Ghosh's stepson, Pritam Majumdar alias Shrinjoy, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Kolkata.

The body of the son of BJP leader's wife Rinku Majumdar, from her previous marriage, was found on Tuesday in a flat in New Town area of the West Bengal capital, police said. Dilip Ghosh had got married to Rinku at a private ceremony on April 18 this year.

Reacting to his stepson's death, Dilip Ghosh said, "I cannot even imagine that something like this has happened. His mother is only crying. We will know the exact cause of death after the report."

28-year-old Pritam lived in the Techno PC area in the city under the Bidhannagar Commissionerate. He used to work at a private IT company. He was found in an unconscious condition on Tuesday morning.

He was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead. His body was later sent for post-mortem at RG Kar Hospital. The postmortem report has revealed 'Acute Hemorrhagic Pancreatitis' behind his death. His final rites were held at Nimtala Ghat in the presence of his family and close relatives.

The official said that no formal complaint has been received by the police as of now, neither from Rinku Majumdar nor from any member of the deceased's family. The family is yet to issue a statement on the matter. His phone is also under scrutiny to find clues to his death.

Rinku, a leader in the party's women's wing, has been in the news after getting married to Ghosh in a private ceremony last month.
