Delhi Weather: Mornings And Evenings Are Getting Cooler But AQI Is Rising; IMD Predicts Rain For Saturday

Delhi Weather News: Delhi’s shifting weather patterns are bringing both discomfort and health concerns to the region, with a chill settling in during the mornings and evenings, only to be replaced by daytime heat that many are finding oppressive. This variation has led to a surge in cases of colds, coughs, and sore throats across the city, affecting people in Delhi NCR as they adapt to the changing season.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the early morning and late evening chills will persist for the next several days, even as temperatures fluctuate. Delhi residents can expect rain on Saturday, while the forecast for Friday had predicted clear skies.
Between October 6 and 9, the skies will remain cloudy, with no rain expected. Monday’s projected high is 36°C, with a low of 25°C.

Delhi AQI Is Rising Already
Meanwhile, a growing concern for Delhiites is the alarming air quality.
According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and Real-Time Air Quality Index, the pollution level in Delhi has reached 6.1 times the standards recommended by the World Health Organization.
On Friday morning, Air Quality Index (AQI) readings hit 202 in Alipur, 209 in Anand Vihar, and a hazardous 320 in Mundka. This sharp rise in AQI, particularly in areas like Mundka, poses a warning for residents, as air pollution levels are expected to worsen over the coming days.
As of Thursday evening, the city’s average AQI of 161 fellz within the 'moderate' range, but specific areas are pushing into more dangerous categories.
An AQI ranging from 0 to 50 is classified as ‘good’, 51 to 100 as ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 as ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 as ‘poor’, 301 to 400 as ‘very poor’, and 401 to 500 as ‘severe’.
