Luthra Brothers Detained at Phuket’s Indigo Hotel; India Begins Extradition Process

In a major development in the Goa nightclub fire case, the Luthra brothers, owners of the club where 25 people lost their lives on 6 December, have been detained at the Indigo Hotel in Phuket, Thailand. The brothers had fled India on an Indigo flight shortly after the incident and were believed to be searching for alternate escape routes to avoid arrest. However, acting on inputs from Indian agencies and Interpol alerts, Thailand’s immigration and police teams launched a swift operation and detained them directly from their hotel room. Exclusive visuals accessed by ABP News show the exact hotel where both brothers were staying, along with images of their passports being verified by immigration officers. Sources confirm that the accused were preparing to move to another country, but the active diplomatic coordination between India and Thailand prevented their escape. The extradition process has now begun, and arrangements are underway to bring them back to India at the earliest. A high-level meeting in Goa, chaired by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Chief Secretary, DGP, and senior officials, will discuss the next steps, including investigation details and ensuring such tragedies are not repeated. This arrest marks a significant achievement for Indian investigative agencies, who intercepted the accused before they could flee further.
