Delhi Weather Alert: IMD Warns Temperature May Cross 44°C In Three Days

Delhi Weather Today: After almost 5 days of cool and calm, the Delhi weather is turning up the heat... quite literally! According to the weather department, people in Delhi may have to bear the brunt of the rising temperature for the next week as the heat is only going to increase. The skies are likely to remain clear throughout the day, making way for the sun. 

According to the IMD, the maximum temperature is likely to cross 44 degrees in the next three days. On Saturday, June 7, the maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to cross 40 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Delhi is likely to hover around 26 degrees Celsius. The mercury could soar beyond 44 degrees Celsius on June 10 or 11. During this time, strong winds will prevail in Delhi.

Delhi Temperature Rises

The maximum temperature in Delhi on Friday was recorded at 38.2 degrees Celsius, which is 1.8 degrees less than the average for this season. According to the IMD, the minimum temperature on Friday was recorded at 25.6 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees less than the average for the season. The humidity level in Delhi was 47 percent at 5:30 pm. 

The temperature in Delhi crossed 40 degrees on June 5. Despite the sunshine due to strong winds, the heat could not scorch people. There has been an increase in temperature since June 5. 

The maximum temperature in Delhi on Thursday was recorded at 37 degrees Celsius, while it was 33.1 degrees Celsius on June 3 and 34.6 degrees Celsius on June 4.

Advisory For Summer

Delhiites would do well to brace for the heat and prepare. Here are a few tips that they could follow to stay safe:

  • Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
  • Avoid venturing out in the sun as much as possible.
  • Wear clothing that fully covers your skin to avoid sun exposure as much as possible.
  • Use a medically certified sunscreen appropriate for your skin whenever going out in the sun.
  • Take care of your diet.
