Delhi Water Supply To Be Disrupted Today For 12 Hours Due To Maintenance Work: Check Areas Affected

Delhi residents in various areas will experience a 12-hour water outage on October 25 due to maintenance work. Inder Puri, Maya Puri, and other affected regions are advised to store adequate water.

Several areas of the national capital will face water scarcity for 12 hours on Friday. The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) said the disruption in water supply on Friday will be due to maintenance work.

According to the DJB, the interruption will be caused by interconnection work on a newly installed 800 mm diameter loop line near Rajouri Garden Metro Station, adjacent to Pillar No. 415. As a result, water supply will either be unavailable or provided at low pressure in the affected areas from 10 AM to 10 PM on October 25.

Residents have been advised to store adequate water in advance to meet their needs during the outage and to use water conservatively. The DJB has also assured that water tankers will be available on request through the DJB helpline or the central control room.

Which Areas Will Face Water-Cut In Delhi On October 25?

The impacted regions include Inder Puri, Maya Puri, Toda Pur Village, Dasghara, C-Block JJR, Naraina Village, Naraina Vihar, Krishi Kunj, Mansarovar Garden, Ramesh Nagar, MES, and the areas served by the Kirti Nagar Underground Reservoir (UGR) and HMP Colony, according to an official statement.

Residents can contact the Delhi Jal Board control room on 1916 or their toll-free helpline number 1800 117 118 in case of any issues. The DJB can also be reached via WhatsApp on 96502 91021.

The Delhi Jal Board started maintenance work in the national capital early in September. This has led to intermittent disruptions in water supply since then.

South Delhi localities, too, faced disruptions on Wednesday because of maintenance works at the Sonia Vihar water treatment plant. Areas like Kailash Nagar, Sarai Kale Khan, Jal Vihar, Lajpat Nagar, Moolchand, and Vasant Kunj were affected due to this.
