Delhi Likely To See Rain On Feb 19-20, AQI Improves To 'Moderate'

IMD said that there has been a fall in the minimum temperature by one to three degrees Celsius and rise in the maximum temperatures up to one to two degrees in Delhi-NCR during the past 24 hours. 

Delhi on Wednesday woke up to a slightly cold weather with a minimum temperature of 10.4 degrees Celsius, which was 0.6 degreees below the seasonal average. According to India Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light rain along with thunderstorm today, with the maximum temperature expected to settle around 28 degrees Celsius. 

"Partly cloudy sky becoming generally cloudy sky towards afternoon. Smog/mist likely in the morning. Very light/light rain accompanied with thunderstorm likely towards night," the IMD forecast for Delhi noted.

As of 8:30 AM, Ridge recorded a maximum temperature of 29.0 degree Celsius, while Palam recorded 26.6 degree Celsius, which was 2.2 degrees above the seasonal average.

Safdarjung, Lodhi Road, and Ayanagar recorded a maximum temperature of 28.8, 28.6, and 28.2 degree Celsius.

IMD said that there has been a fall in the minimum temperature by one to three degrees Celsius and rise in the maximum temperatures upto one to two degrees in Delhi-NCR during the past 24 hours. 

"The Maximum and Minimum temperatures over Delhi are in the range of 27 to 29°C and 10 to 12°C respectively," IMD said.

Light Rain Likely On Feb 20

The weather department has also forecast very light rain or drizzle in the morning on Thursday, February 20. The maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi are likely to be in the range of 25 to 27°C and 12 to 14°C respectively. Strong surface wind (speed 20-30 kmph) are likely during the day.

On Feburary 21, IMD has forecast partly cloudy sky with the smog in the morning.  The maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi are likely to be in the range of 26 to 28°C and 10 to 12°C respectively on Friday.

Meanwhile, the humidity level stood at 83 per cent at 8.30 AM. At 9 AM, the air quality was recorded in the "moderate" category, with an AQI reading of 191, according to the Central Pollution Control Board.

An AQI between 0and 50 is considered "good", 51 to 100 is "satisfactory", 101 to 200 "moderate", 201 to 300 "poor", 301 to 400 "very poor", and 401 to 500 is "severe".
