Several Injured After House Collapses In Delhi's Karol Bagh, CM-Designate Atishi Orders Inquiry

Delhi house collapse: CM-designate Atishi has ordered an inquiry into the incident of the house collapse in Delhi's Karol Bagh.

Several people are feared to be trapped under the debris of a two-storey house that collapsed in the Bapa Nagar locality of the Karol Bagh area in Delhi. Five fire engines were rushed to the spot for search and rescue operations after the alert about the incident was received at 9:11 AM. The rescue operation is still underway.

There is no news of any death in the incident so far. The Karol Bagh house collapse was the latest in a list of similar rain-related incidents in Delhi and its surrounding regions. Last week, one person died after the wall of a dargah in Central Delhi's Nabi Karim area collapsed after heavy rain.

Delhi's CM-designate Atishi has ordered the District Magistrate to provide all assistance to the people living there and the victims. She said the injured are being provided treatment. She has also ordered an inquiry into the incident. "I have spoken to the Municipal Corporation Mayor regarding the accident. There has been a lot of rain this year, my appeal to all the people of Delhi is that if there is any possibility of any accident related to construction, then immediately inform the administration and the corporation, the government will immediately help you."
