A massive fire broke out at a clothing shop in New Delhi's Sarojini Nagar market on Sunday. The fire broke out at around 9:30 pm on Sunday evening.
Four firefighters were rushed to the site and efforts are underway to control the fire. There is no immediate report of any casualties.
"A fire broke out at a shop in Sarojini Nagar. Four firefighters have been deployed to the site and are currently engaged in firefighting operations. The cause of the blaze is yet to be determined, and no casualties have been reported so far. Further details are awaited," Delhi Fire Service said in a statement.
Another fire broke out at a coaching centre on the fourth and fifth floors of two adjacent buildings on Bada Bazar Road, near Vajirao and Ravi Institute in Old Rajender Nagar, Delhi Fire Service said. Eight fire tenders responded to the fire and it was doused.
In a separate incident reported from the capital, a fire that broke out at a godown in east Delhi's Ganesh Nagar on Sunday afternoon after which a woman and her two pets were rescued.
The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) received a call regarding the incident at 2.22 pm, following which three fire tenders were rushed to the spot, the officials said.
The fire broke out at the godown located on the ground floor of a multi-storey building that also houses residential units on its four upper floors, a DFS official said.
Firefighters managed to control the blaze within 30 minutes, preventing it from spreading beyond the godown area, which stored a large quantity of medical supplies. Preliminary inquiry suggests a short circuit could have triggered the fire, the officials said.
