Burglars Break Into 3 Flats In One Night In Dwarka's Gated Society, Rs 70 Lakh Worth Valuables Looted
The robberies were carried out despite the round-the-clock security at the premises of Antariksh Apartments in Dwarka Sector 4, with six to seven guards posted at entry points and regular patrolling.

A series of burglaries in a housing society in Dwarka’s Sector 4 left residents shocked and fearful. The robberies took place in a single night in the Antariksh Apartments in Dwarka where masked intruders scaled the generator room wall at the rear end to enter the flats.
They broke into three flats in Blocks D and E, stealing jewellery and valuables worth Rs 70 lakh overnight. The robberies were carried out despite the round-the-clock security at the premises with six to seven guards posted at entry points and regular patrolling, Times Of India reported.
The Dwarka North police station have registered cases and investigations are ongoing. Sanjay Chatterjee, a resident of a sixth-floor flat in E Block, was in Himachal Pradesh with his wife when the burglary occurred. He had left Dwarka on February 24 after learning that his 82-year-old father had been hospitalised. His father's death forced him to extend his stay.
"While I was busy with last rites, on March 9, I received a call in the evening from my neighbour informing me that our house lock was broken. Along with mine, two other flats were looted. They informed police," the report quoted Chatterjee as saying.
When he returned on March 11, he was shocked to find his house devastated with the "front door lock was broken, the almirah locks were smashed and our house had been ransacked."
"Some of my wife's jewellery pieces were extremely precious, old and irreplaceable. The burglars left nothing behind. It's the last thing anyone wants to deal with while in mourning," said Chatterjee.
He added, "Imagine if my wife had been home alone. I'm terrified about her safety. These criminals must be arrested before they harm anyone else."

Another flat on the fifth floor of the same building was also broken into. But, since the family had moved recently they did not suffer major losses.
A Block D resident, Anju Sinha, was in Bihar to attend a housewarming ceremony when she was informed that her home had been burglarised. "They stole jewellery worth Rs 25 lakh, along with other valuables. How could something like this happen in a gated society?" the TOI report quoted her as asking.
CCTV footage from the apartment complex shows two men scaling the generator room wall completely undetected. They can be seen using rods and screwdrivers to break into the flats and escaping after an hour.
Meanwhile, the residents remain hopeful for swift action against the burglars. Ved Pandey, Residents' Welfare Association president, Antariksh Apartments, said: "This is not the first such incident here. Many other flats in the locality have been broken into, including in Aastha Kunj Apartments. Just last week, there was a theft at the temple in our complex. Burglaries are increasing and we now hold Sunday meetings to make residents aware of such crimes and issue advisories."
