WATCH: Five-Storey Building Tilts In Hyderabad's Siddiq Nagar, Triggers Panic

Hyderabad news: Panic ensued in Hyderabad’s Siddiq Nagar, Madhapur on Tuesday night after a five-storey building tilted alarmingly with visible cracks raising fears of an imminent collapse. The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (DRF) quickly responded evacuating residents of the building and nearby structures to ensure their safety.
The affected residents spent a sleepless night outdoors braving chilly temperatures as officials worked to secure the area. However, no casualties were reported as all occupants were evacuated in time.
Preliminary investigations suggest the tilt occurred due to a combination of poor foundation and substandard construction practices. Compounding the issue was the construction of a new building adjacent to the tilted structure, where unusually deep soil excavation destabilized the ground.

Laxman, a resident of the building, shared his concerns, stating that residents had earlier objected to the deep digging at the adjacent site. He recounted that they questioned how such deep excavation could be allowed in a small 50-square-yard plot but the builders assured that there would be no impact.
