Bihar Woman Kidnapped, Raped While Looking For Food Near Bengaluru Railway Station
Upon hearing the victim’s screams, locals rushed to the scene and managed to nab one of the attackers.

A 19-year-old woman migrant labourer from Bihar was kidnapped and raped while searching for food with her brother near a Bengaluru railway station in the early hours of Thursday. The crime took place between 1:20 am and 1:45 am.
The incident occurred within the Mahadevapura police station limits. Upon hearing the victim’s screams, locals rushed to the scene and managed to nab one of the attackers. After roughing him up, they handed him over to the police. Following interrogation, authorities arrested a second suspect. One of the accused has been identified as Ashif.
Police have filed a case under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
According to officials, the 19-year-old victim hails from Bihar’s Banka district. She and her family had travelled to Kerala’s Kattappan village a month ago for work in the cardamom fields. As the season ended, they decided to return home. While seeking directions at Ernakulam railway station, locals advised them to go via Bengaluru.
The family contacted the victim’s brother, who lived in Bengaluru, and he instructed them to alight at the K.R. Puram railway station. Boarding a train from Kerala at 9 a.m. on April 1, they arrived in Bengaluru at 1:13 a.m. The victim and her brother then stepped out in search of food while the rest of the family stayed at the station.
Around 1:30 a.m., two men intercepted them, attacking the victim’s brother before dragging her to an isolated location. One of the assailants restrained her brother, while the other raped her. Despite attempts to silence her, the victim managed to scream for help.
Her cries alerted nearby residents, who rushed to intervene. Seeing the approaching crowd, the perpetrators attempted to flee, but one was caught and beaten before being turned over to the police.
Authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the case.
