Monsoon Weakens in Bihar, Light Rain Likely In 26 Districts Today
Bihar's monsoon has weakened with no significant rain in three days, resulting in increased heat and humidity. IMD has forecast light to moderate rainfall in 26 districts, with possible thunderstorms.

The monsoon appears to be losing steam in Bihar, with no significant rainfall reported in any district for the past three days. While some areas have seen light showers, the persistent heat and humidity continue to trouble residents.
According to the India Meteorological Department's Patna office, "Rainfall is likely at a few places." Light to moderate rainfall is expected on Monday across 26 districts, including all of South Bihar and parts of Northeast Bihar.

District Where Rain Is Likely Today
The following districts are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall on Monday, July 7: Madhepura, Saharsa, Purnia, Katihar, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Khagaria, Munger, Bhagalpur, Jamui, Banka, Lakhisarai, Begusarai, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Nalanda, Gaya, Patna, Jehanabad, Aurangabad, Arwal, Rohtas, Kaimur, Buxar, and Bhojpur.
Some of these areas may also experience wind speeds of 30-40 kmph, accompanied by thunder and lightning.
A rainfall of 2.5-15.5 mm is considered "light", while 15.6-64.4 mm rainfall is considered "moderate". If the rainfall exceeds this and the precipitation is limited to 115.5 mm, it is considered "heavy rainfall". Anything figure greater than 204.5 mm is considered "extremely heavy rainfall".
Owing to heavy rainfall in Bihar, yellow and red alerts had been issued last week.
Humidity in Bihar is also high. The humidity in Patna was 73% on Monday morning as per private weather forecaster Accuweather. Nawada and Rohtas were "dangerously humid" with the figure at 85% and 87% respectively.
Nawada Records Highest Rainfall
According to Sunday afternoon's weather bulletin, no district received heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours. Nawada recorded the highest rainfall at 38.2 mm, followed by Rohtas with 37.8 mm. Other districts that recorded rainfall are:
- Buxar: 34.02 mm
- Kaimur (Bhabhua): 30.6 mm
- Katihar: 24 mm
- Madhepura: 18.6 mm
- Arwal: 12.8 mm
- Gaya: 11.8 mm
- Bhagalpur: 11.2 mm
- Bhojpur & Vaishali: 8.6 mm each
- Araria & Purnia: 8.4 mm each
Temperatures Set To Rise
The IMD has predicted a 2 to 3°C rise in temperatures over the next three days across the state. Despite sporadic rainfall, most districts will continue to grapple with intense heat and humidity. On Sunday, Gopalganj recorded the highest temperature at 38.5°C, while Patna logged 35.1°C. Most districts reported temperatures between 33°C and 35°C.
No major drop in Patna's temperature is expected soon. Though isolated showers may occur, the combination of blazing sunshine and sultry weather is likely to persist in the capital.
