Bihar Congress Upset Over Kanhaiya's Entry? State Leaders 'Unhappy' As Youth Leader Set To Begin 'Naukri Do' Yatra
Congress's March 12 meeting in Delhi has been postponed amid internal divisions, particularly regarding Kanhaiya Kumar's upcoming "Bihar Ko Naukri Do Yatra."

The Congress' crucial meeting on March 12 in Delhi, which was to be convened by party president Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leader Rahul Gandhi, has been postponed due to Holi celebrations, sources said. The meeting, considered significant in the run-up to the Bihar Assembly elections, was to be attended by newly appointed Bihar in-charge Krishna Allavaru and around 30-35 senior party leaders.
The meeting was expected to see Bihar Congress chief Akhilesh Prasad Singh, all 19 party MLAs, and senior leaders provide feedback to Rahul Gandhi on the state’s political landscape. Discussions were also planned on strengthening the organisation and Congress’ role in the Mahagathbandhan. Additionally, seat-sharing talks with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) were on the agenda.
Internal Differences Within Bihar Congress Over Kanhaiya Kumar’s Upcoming ‘Bihar Ko Naukri Do Yatra’
Although the official reason cited for the postponement is Holi celebrations, sources suggest that internal differences within the Bihar Congress, particularly regarding leader Kanhaiya Kumar’s upcoming ‘Bihar Ko Naukri Do Yatra’, have contributed to the delay.
However, Bihar Congress leadership is reportedly upset that they were not consulted about the initiative. Sources indicate that the lack of coordination has led to internal tensions, with senior leaders expressing dissatisfaction over Kanhaiya Kumar’s independent push.
The yatra is seen as Kanhaiya Kumar’s political resurgence in Bihar, but the postponement of the March 12 meeting has raised questions about Congress’ internal unity. Concerns are being raised over whether senior state leaders and Kanhaiya Kumar’s camp are not working in tandem. The underlying issue, sources suggest, is a growing unease within Bihar Congress ranks about the prominence being given to the young leader.
Kanhaiya Kumar On ‘Bihar Ko Naukri Do Yatra’
On Monday, Kanhaiya Kumar announced the initiative, stating, “The Congress will launch the ‘Bihar Ko Naukri Do Yatra’ from March 16, starting from East Champaran’s historic Gandhi Ashram and concluding in Patna.” He emphasised that the march would raise key concerns. “The condition of education in Bihar is deteriorating. Colleges have five-year plans, but courses take three years while degrees take five years to be awarded. There are 10 teachers for 25,000 students. This yatra will address these concerns,” he said.
The Congress initiative comes amid heightened political activity in Bihar, following Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s ‘Pragati Yatra’ and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s ‘Karyakarta Darshan Sah Samvad’ programme. However, internal discontent over Kanhaiya Kumar’s solo push for the yatra may pose fresh challenges for the party’s unity ahead of the crucial polls.
