Tejashwi Yadav 'Stole' Taps, ACs While Vacating Bihar Govt Bungalow: BJP

Supreme Court earlier dismissed his plea challenging Patna High Court's order asking him to vacate the bungalow. The court ordered him to shift to an accommodation for the leader of the opposition.

BJP has accused RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav of stealing items, including taps, a sofa and air conditioners, while vacating the Deputy Chief Minister's official residence in Bihar's Patna. Yadav vacated the bungalow on Sunday after which it was allotted to Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. The allegations are made by Choudhary's personal secretary.

The Supreme Court earlier dismissed Yadav's plea challenging the Patna High Court's order asking him to vacate the bungalow. The court ordered him to shift to an accommodation for the leader of the opposition.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's party JDU also attacked Yadav saying it was already unfortunate that he vacated the government bungalow so long after stepping down from his position. "This was already unfortunate, and to add, Tejashwi took away the valuables too," JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said.

RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari refuted the allegations and claimed that the BJP was being involved in petty politics.
"BJP is suffering from Tejashwi Yadav's phobia. If BJP wants AC and bed from Tejashwi Yadav, then it should say so... Tejashwi Yadav will get it delivered," he added.

A Delhi Court on Monday granted bail to RJD leaders Lalu Prasad Yadav and his sons Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav in a money laundering case registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the alleged land-for-jobs scam case. Special Judge Vishal Gogne of Rouse Avenue Courts granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh each.

Last year, the trial court granted bail to Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi and Tejashwi Prasad Yadav in the case registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
