Bengaluru Metro Purple Line Services To Be Partially Suspended Tomorrow – Details Inside

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) announced that the decision was to facilitate track maintenance work on the Purple Line (Challaghatta-Whitefield (Kadugodi).

Bengaluru: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced a partial suspension of services on the Purple Line for three hours on Sunday, March 9, to facilitate essential track maintenance work. Services between Magadi Road and MG Road will remain suspended from 7:00 am to 10:00 am, affecting several key metro stations.

In a press release, BMRCL stated, “Partial cancellation of Metro Service on 09.03.2025 between Magadi Road & MG Road Metro Stations - Due to Track Maintenance. BMRCL will be taking up track maintenance work on the Purple Line (Challaghatta-Whitefield (Kadugodi). To facilitate the work there will be a partial cancellation of Metro services between Magadi Road and MG Road metro stations for a brief period of three (3) hours from 07:00 am to 10:00 am."

Metro Services Affected

No Service Between Magadi Road & MG Road: Stations including Cubbon Park, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Station (Vidhana Soudha), Sir M. Visvesvaraya Station, Central College, Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station (Majestic, Purple Line), and Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station will remain closed during this period.


QR Ticket Restrictions:
To avoid inconvenience, QR ticket purchases and token sales for inter-line travel between the Purple and Green Lines will be temporarily disabled. Passengers are advised not to purchase QR tickets for Purple Line travel to or from Majestic until services resume at 10:00 am.

Limited Operations on the Purple Line: While trains will not run between Magadi Road and MG Road, metro services will operate as usual from 7:00 am on the following sections: Challaghatta to Magadi Road and MG Road to Whitefield (Kadugodi).

Green Line Unaffected: Metro services on the Green Line (Silk Institute–Madavara) will operate as per schedule from 7:00 am onward.
