Another Murder In Bihar, Government Teacher From Saharsa Shot Dead

Government school teacher Ravindra Paswan was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the Bela Bagroli village while travelling home.

Bihar Murder: Another incident of murder has hit Bihar. This time the victim is a government school teacher. The teacher was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Bela Bagroli village. The incident occurred when he was travelling from his ancestral village to his residence in Saharsa.

The deceased was identified as Ravindra Paswan. He was a teacher at Sisai Higher Secondary School.

This is the latest in a recent spate of murders, including those of policemen, in Bihar.

According to local media reports, Paswan stepped out of his home to lodge a police complaint in a land dispute. He had gone barely 500 metres when two men on a bike accosted him and fired six rounds.

Teacher Shot Dead In Gopalganj 2 Months Ago

In January, too, a teacher was shot dead in Gopalganj's Jirwa village. The victim, Abind Kumar Yadav was killed in a similar manner. He went out of his home to teach at a middle school in the region when two men on a bike accosted him and fired five rounds, killing him on the spot.

Yadav's death was reportedly the result of a political enmity.

NRI Killed In Vaishali 

An NRI was also killed in Bihar on Saturday, March 22. He was shot dead for resisting a robbery bid. The victim, Anand Shankar, used to work as an engineer with the United Nations in the US, reported Deccan Herald.

He had returned to India to celebrate Holi with his family. He was on his way to his native village, Sakrauli Buchauli, when the robbers on bikes waylaid him near Ufraul Dainipul under Rajapakar police station. They asked for his gold chain and money, but Shankar refused. 

At this, one of the assailants shot him at point blank. He was rushed to a Patna hospital but was declared dead.

Public, NRI, Political Families, Policemen — No One Spared In Bihar

Over the past two weeks, two policemen and a Union minister's relative have been killed in separate incidents. Another minister's relative was injured in a gun attack.

ASIs Santosh Kumar Singh and Rajeev Ranjan were killed in separate attacks in Munger and Araria. Union Minister Raj Bhushan Nishad's uncle was shot at in Begusarai on Friday. He sustained injuries to his leg.

A day ago, Union Minister Nishad Rai's nephew was shot dead in Bhagalpur.
