Union Minister Raj Bhushan Nishad's Uncle Shot At In Bihar's Begusarai

Malik Sahni, the maternal uncle of Union Minister of State and Muzaffarpur MP Raj Bhushan Nishad, was shot and seriously injured in an attack in Begusarai, Bihar.

Criminals are on a rampage in Bihar it seems ahead of the assembly elections this year. In a fresh development in Begusarai, the maternal uncle of Union Minister of State and Muzaffarpur MP Raj Bhushan Nishad was shot at on Thursday night.

The minister's maternal uncle, Malik Sahni, was seriously injured in the attack. He was admitted to the district hospital of Begusarai for treatment. The incident was reported from the Kumbhi village of the Cheria Bariarpur police station area.

The incident comes amid the killings of policemen in Bihar last week and the murder of another Union Minister's nephew on Thursday.

Shot While Returning Home

Sahni said that he was returning from his shop on Thursday night when he was shot. "As I was returning after closing the shop, the criminals, armed with weapons, started firing indiscriminately. During the firing, a bullet hit my leg," he said.

"As soon as the bullet hit, Malik Sahni fell unconscious and the criminals fled the spot. Malik Sahni said: "There my son had an argument with some goons in the area the previous day and the shooting was a fallout of that."

A police team from Cheria Bariarpur rushed to the spot and sent him to the hospital. The police also recovered several bullet shells from the spot.

Union Minister's Nephew Shot Dead

The incident came the same day when Union Minister Nityanand Rai's nephew was killed in a dispute over drinking water in Jagatpur village in Bihar's Bhagalpur.

According to locals, a tiff between Rai's two nephews, Jai Jit Yadav and Vishwajit Yadav, quickly escalated into a violent confrontation. The incident unfolded on Thursday morning at the residence of Raghunandan Yadav, the brother-in-law of the minister, in Jagatpur. 

Witnesses claimed that a domestic help, while serving water to Jai Jit, dipped his hand into the water. This sparked an argument between the two brothers. As per the residents of the area, the relationship between the two brothers was already strained.
