Shubam Kumar, a resident of Bijnore, received a gunshot injury in the arm when the terrorists fired at him at Batagund village of Tral area
In yet another attack on non-locals in Jammu and Kashmir, a non-local was found dead in the Ganbugh area of Srinagar on Thursday. This was the second instance today, and fourth in the past one week, when a non-local was targeted by the terrorists. Earlier in the day, a migrant worker from Uttar Pradesh was shot at by unidentified terrorists in the Pulwama district in South Kashmir.
The deceased has reportedly been identified as MD Jahud from Bengal. Earlier today, Shubam Kumar, a resident of Bijnore, received a gunshot injury in the arm when the terrorists fired at him at Batagund village of Tral area, the officials said.
“He has been shifted to hospital with a minor injury,” officials said.
It came days after one doctor and six migrant workers were killed after terrorists opened fire at a construction site in the Sonamarg area of Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal district on Sunday evening. The attack occurred near an under-construction tunnel. Four others were also injured in the attack.
All of them were employees of APCO Infrastructure, which is building a tunnel from Z-Morh to Sonamarg tourist resort to make the Srinagar-Sonamarg road an all-weather road. The unidentified terrorists -- believed to be at least two -- carried out the attack when the labourers and other staff working on the tunnel project at Gund in Ganderbal had returned to their camp late in the evening.
Police on Wednesday released pictures of two foreign terrorists involved in the attack. The pictures were taken by the CCTV cameras installed at the camp. Over 40 people have so far been questioned by the investigators. The NIA team also visited the terror attack spot. The team is reported to have collected some vital clues from the terror spot.
The dastardly terror attack was widely condemned by everybody including the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and former Chief Ministers Dr Farooq Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti and Ghulam Nabi Azad.
In another attack, a labourer from Bihar was shot dead by terrorists in Shopian district on October 18.
