Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad along with his family on Uttarayan on Wednesday where the incident take place. The video has gone viral.

Union Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday visited the Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad, Gujarat along with his family during the Uttarayan festival. A video from the visit, showing a light moment between Shah and his son and new ICC Chairman Jay Shah, has gone viral on social media.

The video shows Amit Shah performing the rituals during the temple's aarti ceremony and Jay Shah standing next to him, holding his child in his arms. As Amit Shah passes the sacred flames near Jay Shah's son, he shielded his child from the flames. This prompted a remark from the Union Home Minister in Gujarati. "Kassu nai thay, tare kai novo navay no chokro che," which loosely translates to, "Kuchh nhi hoga, tera chhokra secial hai kya?" [Nothing will happen, do you have a new and unique son?].

This video sparked reactions from netizens and was shared widely on social media.

How Social Media Reacted

Social media users shared their thoughts on the intercation and found the incident in the video similar to every typical Indian household.

"Hahaha, I love the Indian parents , they are exactly the same in most cases with their kids," a user commented.

"Baap kisi ka bhi ho baap baap hota hai," another said.

"Typical Indian Father...zaapnemain second nahi legate," a third user said.

Another commented, "Har ghar ki yahi kahani, baap ke saamne bete ki koi izzat nhi chahe beta kitna bhi bada aadmi kyun na ban jaye [This is the story of every household; a father never gives respect to his son in front of others, no matter how successful the son becomes]."

Notably, Jay Shah was honoured at the Special General Meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India after he became the youngest ICC chairman. He has previously served as the BCCI Secretary since October 2019 and also as the Chairman of the Asian Cricket Council since 2021. After the recent reshuffle, Devajit Saikia, a former first-class cricketer from Assam, was appointed as the BCCI Secretary.
