Yes Madam Issues Clarification On Firing Over 100 Employees For Workplace Stress; Here's What It Said

Yes Madam issued an apology on LinkedIn, expressing regret for any distress caused by the campaign. The company clarified that it "would never take such a step"

After receiving significant backlash on Monday for a viral LinkedIn post claiming that Noida-based doorstep beauty platform Yes Madam had terminated employees due to stress, the firm issued a clarification on Tuesday. The company said that the action was part of an awareness initiative designed to highlight workplace stress and not an actual layoff.

Yes Madam issued an apology on LinkedIn, expressing regret for any distress caused by the campaign. The company clarified that it "would never take such a step" and highlighted that the action was intended to raise awareness about the critical issue of workplace stress.

In the same post, YES Madam unveiled two new initiatives for its employees. The first is the 'Happy 2 Heal' program, which will provide in-office head massages and spa sessions to help employees unwind and relieve stress. The company also introduced a 'De-stress Leave Policy,' offering employees up to six paid leaves annually for mental health and rejuvenation. Employees will also receive complimentary spa sessions at home as part of this initiative.

However, the firm is still facing backlash on different social media platforms for using the grieving issue of layoffs as a promotional strategy for its employee initiatives.

On Monday, one of Yes Madam’s employees shared a social media post that showed a picture of an email sent to Yes Madam employees informing them about the layoffs. The email reads, “Dear Team, Recently, we conducted a survey to understand your feelings about stress at work. Many of you shared your concerns, which we deeply value and respect. As a company committed to fostering a healthy and supportive work environment, we have carefully considered the feedback. To ensure that no one remains stressed at work, we have made the difficult decision to part ways with employees who indicated significant stress.”

“This decision is effective immediately, and impacted employees will receive further details separately. Thank you for your contributions,” it added.
