YesMadam Layoffs: Noida-Based Startup Asks Employees If They're Stressed, Then Fires Those Who Said Yes

YesMadam Layoffs: “This decision is effective immediately, and impacted employees will receive further details separately. Thank you for your contributions,” the email added

YesMadam, the doorstep beauty service platform, has allegedly fired employees who were under stress after conducting an in-office survey. According to the LinkedIn post, the firm sent employees an email informing them about the termination, which was effective immediately.

The email reads, “Dear Team, Recently, we conducted a survey to understand your feelings about stress at work. Many of you shared your concerns, which we deeply value and respect. As a company committed to fostering a healthy and supportive work environment, we have carefully considered the feedback. To ensure that no one remains stressed at work, we have made the difficult decision to part ways with employees who indicated significant stress.”

“This decision is effective immediately, and impacted employees will receive further details separately. Thank you for your contributions,” it added.

The post was shared by Anushka Dutta, a UX copywriter at Yesmadam. In the caption, she wrote, “What's happening at YesMadam? First you conduct a random survey and then fire us overnight because we're feeling stressed? And not just me 100 other people have been fired too.”

Several people commented on the post; some shared their disbelief at such a terrible move by the companies, while others termed it a PR stunt by the firm. “That is the most inhumane way to lay off people Ashu Arora Jha YesMadam. You pretended to care by sending over a 'Stress Survey' and basis of the same you chose to fire people. This is unbelievable and insane; it speaks of the toxic work culture and the services you offer. The start-ups that start on the foundation of toxicity die the fastest. If it is true then I hope people boycott your brand both as employees and end customers and if it is a PR stunt then also I hope people do the same because there are better ways to trend.” wrote one of the LinkedIn users.

ABP Live has contacted Dutta for more details regarding these unusual layoffs, but she is yet to respond. It's not clear if the layoffs are genuine or an elaborate PR stunt. We'll update when we hear back.
